
Pride and Prejudice is set in the early 19th century, where it is expected that a woman marries a respectable man and has children. Elizabeth Bennet lives in Hertfordshire, England with her mother, father and four sister's. Mrs. Bennet's one dream for her daughters is that they marry high class men. Jane, Elizabeth's sister falls for the rich Mr. Bingley and makes her mother's dreams come true; but Elizabeth hates the rich Mr. Darcy throughout the book until she suddenly finds herself falling for her only enemy.
In the beginning of the story, two extremely wealthy single men, Mr. Bingly and Mr. Darcy move to Netherfield Park, an extensive manor in Hertfordshire. Along with them was Mr. Bingley's sisters and brother-in-law, Miss Bingley, and Mr and Mrs. Hurst. Immediately Jane, falls in love with Mr. Bingly. While in the company of Mr. Bingley's sisters, Jane suddenly falls ill, and she is told to recover at Mr. Bingley's manor. During Jane's recovery, Elizabeth also decides to stay at Mr. Bingley's manor. While Jane is recovering, Elizabeth, also known as Lizzy and Eliza, gets to spend a lot of quality time with Mr. Darcy, Mr Bingley and Mr. Bingley's sisters. When Lizzy and Jane eventually return home, they gain notice that their cousin Mr. Collins will soon be visiting them; but Eliza barely has any time for Mr. Collins because she is spending all her time with Mr. Wickham, the man whom she has a crush on. When Elizabeth is with Mr. Wickham, he tells her horrible stories about Mr. Darcy, which causes Elizabeth to really hate Mr. Darcy. Later, to Jane and her mother's dismay, Mr. Bingley and his whole clan move away from Netherfield Park never planning to return. Jane, then decides to track down Mr. Bingley and try to convince him to marry her. In the meantime, Elizabeth decides to go to Rosings Park to visit her recently married best friend; and while at Rosings Park, Elizabeth finds out Mr. Darcy is also there. When at Rosings, Lizzy finds out that Mr. Darcy is in love with her; and she finds out Mr. Wickham's true nature. When Elizabeth returns home, she finds out her youngest sister Lydia got invited to go to Brighton where all the officers are; Elizabeth hopes that her parents won't let Lydia go because she will embarrass the whole family. Later, Elizabeth goes to Derbyshire with her aunt and uncle where she sees none other than... Mr. Darcy. While in Derbyshire, Elizabeth gets notice that Lydia has run away with the scandalous Mr. Wickham. Everyone including Mr. Darcy try to find Lydia and convince her and Mr. Wickham to marry. Finally, Lydia gets married to Mr. Wickham. Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy eventually move back to Netherfield.
